Andy Kim, Psychology Clinician

 

Andy Kim is a fourth year Ph.D. student in clinical psychology in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie University. He completed his Bachelor of Arts with honours in Psychology at the University of British Columbia.

 

Mr. Kim is a distinguished researcher funded by a prestigious scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. He has authored more than a dozen publications, including several publications in prominent academic journals. Mr. Kim’s research focuses on the complex relationships between perfectionism, eating disorders, relationship conflict, depression, anxiety and substance use. He integrates this knowledge into his therapy sessions, ensuring clients receive the most effective treatments available.

 

At CRUX, Mr. Kim is committed to helping clients navigate life’s challenges with empathy and evidence-based practices. Tailoring his therapeutic approach to each client’s unique needs, Mr. Kim specializes in assisting individuals struggling with depression, anxiety and substance misuse through cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and other empirically supported interventions.

 

Mr. Kim is dedicated to creating a space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions freely. His multicultural background and experience working with diverse populations allow him to provide culturally sensitive care to clients from all walks of life.

 

At CRUX, Mr. Kim provides therapy to adults (19 years of age or older) both in-person and online through easy-to-use technologies like Zoom. Mr. Kim works with clients from Nova Scotia.
