Jennifer Davidson-Harden, Ph.D., Registered Psychologist

 

Dr. Jennifer Davidson-Harden is deeply committed to helping young people navigate life’s emotional challenges with clarity, confidence and compassion. Holding a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Waterloo, she has been practicing in the areas of clinical and school psychology for over 17 years. She has worked in school, hospital and private practice settings. She is passionate about working with children, adolescents and young adults.

 

Dr. Davidson-Harden provides individual therapy for adolescents and young adults using evidence-based approaches like cognitive-behavioural therapy and dialectical behaviour therapy to help clients challenge unhelpful thoughts, manage overwhelming emotions and build stronger relationships. She brings warmth, expertise and a non-judgemental approach in helping her clients better understand their “big emotions” and ways to see themselves in a more compassionate and resilient light. Dr. Davidson-Harden specializes in working with mood and anxiety disorders, emotion dysregulation, trauma and complex mental health needs. She also works with parents providing them with parenting support. 

 

Additionally, Dr. Davidson-Harden supports clients navigating challenges such as ADHD, OCD, personality disorders, substance use, self-harm, grief, gender identity and school-related stressors including academic pressure, bullying and executive functioning difficulties. She also works with high-achieving youth and young adults facing perfectionism, burnout and identity-related stress.

 

Dr. Davidson-Harden conducts comprehensive diagnostic and psychoeducational assessments and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise through her experience working in educational settings. Assessments offer an opportunity for children, adolescents, young adults and those supporting them to better understand their strengths and challenges. With a rare blend of clinical insight and educational expertise, Dr. Davidson-Harden helps families not only understand their child’s needs but also advocate effectively within school systems. At CRUX, Dr. Davidson-Harden provides services online through easy-to-use technologies like Zoom. She provides individual therapy to adolescents (11 to 18 years of age) and young adults (19 to 25 years of age). She provides assessment to children (5 to 10 years of age), adolescents (11 to 18 years of age) and young adults (19 to 25 years of age). Dr. Davidson-Harden is a licensed psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. Psychologists who are fully registered in other Canadian jurisdictions (such as Ontario) can provide online services to residents of other provinces. Dr. Davidson-Harden works with clients from Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
