Kerry Bernes, Ph.D., Registered Psychologist
Dr. Kerry Bernes is a highly regarded clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience in assessing and treating clients. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Calgary and is now a tenured full professor of Educational and Counselling Psychology at the University of Lethbridge. He holds the prestigious designation of a Board Certified Specialist in Clinical Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology. His research interests focus on career development, career planning and sport psychology.
At CRUX, Dr. Bernes offers online treatment and assessment services through easy-to-use technologies like Zoom. He treats various problems, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, separation and divorce (especially with men), sports psychology, stress management, grief, obesity and weight loss, career development, and relationship counselling. Dr. Bernes also specializes in treating trauma, abuse and neglect and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He commonly works with medical students and residents, professionals, athletes, graduate students, entrepreneurs, and other high performers. He also treats and strongly supports police officers, RCMP members, paramedics, military personnel and veterans. His treatment services grounded in evidence-based treatment, including cognitive-behavioural therapy and exposure therapy.
Dr. Bernes offers assessment services, including forensic / legal, personal injury, mental health and comprehensive psychological assessments. He often assesses military veterans, and excels at pre-employment screening.
