When symptoms are complex and answers feel out of reach, Dr. Mirna Vrbancic offers clarity, compassion and over 30 years of neuropsychological expertise to help clients and care teams understand what is really going on. 

 

Dr. Vrbancic holds a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Waterloo and an M.Sc. from the University of Calgary, with specialized training in neuropsychology. She is a fellow of the National Academy of Neuropsychology, an active member of the International Neuropsychological Society and maintains academic appointments in psychology, psychiatry and neurology at the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Medicine.

 

Her approach is thoughtful, evidence-based and attuned to the interplay of medical, neurological and psychological factors. Working with individuals aged 16 and older, she provides comprehensive assessments, diagnoses and treatment recommendations to support clarity, dignity and informed care. Her goal is to help clients better understand how cognitive, emotional and behavioral challenges affect daily life—and what can be done to move forward.

 

Dr. Vrbancic evaluates cognitive and neurological conditions including traumatic brain injury, stroke, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, dementia and functional neurological disorders. She also assesses cognitive functioning related to genetic conditions, premature birth and neurodevelopmental differences.

 

Her expertise includes mental health and neurodevelopmental concerns such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), psychosis, addictions, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities and intellectual delays. She provides diagnostic clarification, treatment recommendations and consults for complex presentations.

 

Dr. Vrbancic also conducts independent medical and psychological examinations, psychovocational and psychoeducational assessments and pre-employment screenings. She regularly collaborates with legal teams, insurers and organizations, offering expert opinions in forensic and personal injury contexts.

 

At CRUX, Dr. Vrbancic provides assessment services online through easy-to-use technologies like Zoom. She works with adolescents (16 to 18 years of age) and adults (19 years of age or older). Dr. Vrbancic is a licensed psychologist registered with Saskatchewan College of Psychologists. Psychologists who are fully registered in other Canadian jurisdictions (such as Saskatchewan) can provide online services to residents of other provinces.
