Rami Nijjar, Ph.D., Registered Psychologist

Dr. Rami Nijjar is a clinical psychologist in both Québec and British Columbia. She completed her Ph. D. at Concordia University, where she researched the impact of parent-child dynamics on later attachment patterns in children of parents with bipolar disorder. Over the last decade, Dr. Nijjar has worked across Canada with leading experts in the field of sex and relationships, including Dr. Lori Brotto and Dr. Peggy Kleinplatz, running groups for individuals and couples struggling with a range of intimacy challenges. During this time she also undertook training to become a Certified Mindful Self-Compassion teacher through the UCSD School of Medicine. 

Dr. Nijjar believes that accurate diagnosis is the first step to an effective therapeutic process.  She specializes in a range of assessments, including ADHD assessments, substance use assessments, personality assessments and comprehensive mental health assessments. Comprehensive mental health assessments cover disorders such as anxiety, obsessive compulsive (OCD) and autism. Through her assessments, Dr. Nijjar aims to give her clients clarity and an understanding what their challenges are. Her assessments also include a detailed treatment plan to help her clients achieve health and happiness.

In her personal life, Dr. Nijjar values balance. In her free time, she is an avid swimmer, outdoors enthusiast, writer, cook and party planner. She is passionate about her life in Montreal, loves to travel and maintains close ties with her community of family, friends and collaborators both locally and globally.

At CRUX, Dr. Nijjar offers online services through easy-to-use technologies like Zoom. She provides assessments to adults (19 years of age or older). Dr. Nijjar is a licensed psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists British Columbia and the Ordre des psychologues du Québec. Psychologists who are fully registered in other Canadian jurisdictions (such as British Columbia or Québec) can provide online services to residents of other provinces.
