Dr. Seema Buksh is a Registered Psychologist with a doctorate in clinical psychology and more than 25 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. She provides psychotherapy and comprehensive psychological assessment, helping patients deepen their understanding of themselves while developing practical, evidence‑based strategies for meaningful change. Her assessment services include diagnostic clarification and recommendations that support treatment planning, educational needs and accommodations when appropriate.

 

Her approach is compassionate, collaborative and strength‑based. She understands that relationships and life experiences shape how people see themselves, connect with others and navigate challenges. By creating a safe, respectful therapeutic space, she helps patients build insight, strengthen resilience and move toward healthier relationships and greater emotional well‑being.

 

Dr. Buksh works with patients experiencing a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, mood and adjustment disorders, ADHD and learning disorders, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, menopause‑related changes, work‑life balance, self‑esteem challenges, acculturation and spirituality. Her integrative approach is tailored to each patient and draws from psychodynamic and attachment‑based perspectives, Mindfulness‑Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other evidence‑based modalities. As a Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR‑BC), she also incorporates expressive and creative approaches when they support therapeutic goals.

 

Across her career, Dr. Buksh has worked in private practice, community mental health and educational settings, providing care to individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and at all stages of life. She is committed to culturally responsive, inclusive care where patients feel understood, respected and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.

 

At CRUX, Dr. Buksh provides individual therapy, couples therapy and assessment services in person at CRUX Psychology’s New Westminster office and online through easy-to-use technologies like Zoom. She offers in person therapy to children (5 to 11 years of age) and adults (19 years of age or older). She offers in person assessments to children (5 to 11 years of age), adolescents (11 to 18 years of age) and adults (19 years of age or older). She offers online therapy and assessments to adults (19 years of age or older). Dr. Buksh is a licensed psychologist registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) and the Government of the Yukon Territory. Psychologists who are fully registered in other Canadian jurisdictions (such as British Columbia) can provide online services to residents of some other provinces. Dr. Buksh works with clients from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, British Columbia and the Yukon.
