She is completing her predoctoral residency at Vancouver Coastal Health in the Operational Stress Injury track, where she provides evidence‑based assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing trauma‑related and co‑occurring mental health concerns. She brings a strong foundation of academic training and hands-on clinical experience to her work.
Passionate about supporting individuals across the lifespan, Emily works with adolescents and adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, personality‑related concerns and difficulties with coping or emotional regulation. She also supports clients facing issues related to anger, stress and burnout, grief and loss, panic and the impacts of abuse or neglect. Her clinical experience includes helping individuals strengthen assertiveness and social skills, manage perfectionism or procrastination and address concerns related to self‑esteem, body image and disordered eating. Emily is also experienced in supporting high achievers under pressure, individuals working through relationship challenges and those navigating postpartum depression, miscarriage or other motherhood‑related concerns. She has meaningful experience working with first responders, military members and veterans who are navigating operational stress injuries and complex trauma.
Her therapeutic approach is grounded in cognitive and behavioural modalities, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), prolonged exposure (PE) and interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT). Emily takes an individualized and collaborative approach, integrating evidence‑based strategies to ensure each client receives care tailored to their needs, goals and values.
In addition to therapy, Emily conducts comprehensive psychological assessments. Her assessment work includes evaluations for ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma‑related disorders, personality functioning and cognitive abilities such as memory, language and executive functioning. She also completes psychoeducational and diagnostic assessments, disability‑related evaluations and assessments for Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC). Her experience further includes working with individuals facing addictions, behavioural addictions, somatic symptom concerns and the psychological impacts of sexual assault or self‑harm. Across all assessment contexts, Emily is committed to providing clear, evidence‑based recommendations that support clients in accessing appropriate care, resources and next steps.
