Phuong An, M.Ed., Registered Psychologist
Ms. Phuong An is a psychologist with more than 25 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through assessment and therapy. Her career began as a psychiatric nurse before transitioning into psychology. She has worked in hospitals, community clinics, and rehabilitation settings and is a diplomate of the American Board of School Neuropsychology.
Guided by the belief that psychologists help people of all ages live happier, healthier, and more productive lives, Ms. An provides therapy that is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. She draws on a wide range of evidence-based methods to help patients develop life-changing habits, build resilience, and shift perspectives toward hope and possibility. Her sessions are designed to explore personal challenges in depth and equip clients with practical tools to navigate life’s obstacles.
Ms. An’s practice encompasses a broad spectrum of concerns, from everyday stress and relationship difficulties to complex trauma and neuropsychological conditions. She works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, psychosis, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, sleep problems, grief, and burnout. She also supports individuals struggling with addictions, whether substance-related or behavioural, and provides guidance for those facing challenges such as perfectionism, self-esteem, body image, parenting, separation or divorce, and adjustment to medical issues.
Her expertise extends to developmental and neuropsychological assessments, including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder, learning disorders, executive functioning difficulties, concussion and post-concussion care, traumatic brain injury, dementia, and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. She conducts psychoeducational assessments, forensic assessments, independent medical examinations, and pre-employment screenings, and offers specialized consultation for physicians, medical students, police, RCMP, paramedics, military personnel, veterans, refugees, immigrants, and high-achieving students and professionals.

At CRUX, Ms. An provides individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy and assessment services online through easy-to-use technologies like Zoom. She works with children (5 to 10 years of age), adolescents (11 to 18 years of age) and adults (19 years of age or older). Ms. An is a licensed psychologist registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists, the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists and the Government of Yukon. Psychologists who are fully registered in other Canadian jurisdictions (such as Alberta) can provide online services to residents of other provinces.
