Petrina Hough, Ph.D., Registered Psychologist
Kindness, warmth and compassion come easily to Dr. Hough. She is a highly experienced psychologist with a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Alberta. For more than 15 years, she has applied her comprehensive skill set to improve her clients’ lives.
At CRUX, Dr. Hough offers online treatment services through easy-to-use technologies like Zoom. She treats clients with behavior and academic problems and social-emotional difficulties such as anxiety, depression and anger. She also treats attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, body image concerns, bullying, family problems, panic and phobias/fears.
When life feels overwhelming, Dr. Hough is there to offer evidence-based treatment delivered with empathy and respect. She has ample experience helping people with breakups, heartache and relationship problems. Dr. Hough is an expert in teaching adolescents and young adults how to reach goals, solve problems and gain independence. Using cognitive, behavioural and supportive approaches, Dr. Hough helps clients eliminate their symptoms, improve their self-esteem and be their best.
Dr. Hough also conducts assessments in person at CRUX for people with a wide range of developmental, learning, behavioral and social-emotional difficulties. She assesses ADHD, learning disorders, giftedness, anxiety, depression and intellectual disabilities. She also has extensive experience in conducting psychoeducational assessments and providing treatment recommendations.
Dr. Hough treats adolescents (12 to 18 years of age) and young adults (19 to 25 years of age). And she assesses children (4 to 11 years of age), adolescents (12 to 18 years of age) and young adults (19 to 25 years of age).
