Kenisha Reid, M.Sc., M.A., Psychologist, Candidate Register

 

Kenisha Reid is an experienced, compassionate and supportive psychologist. She holds two Master’s degrees, one in Clinical Psychology and one in Child and Youth Studies, as well as a diploma in Early Childhood Development. She has worked in both private and public settings, supporting individuals with various physical and mental challenges. A lifelong learner, Ms. Reid continuously seeks creative, innovative and evidence-based approaches to support her clients unique needs. In her spare time, Ms. Reid enjoys walking, painting, reading and spending time with family and friends.

 

Ms. Reid offers a safe, empowering and non-judgmental space for her clients to explore their challenges and develop their strengths. If her clients are experiencing anxiety, depression, autism, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), self-esteem issues, stress or grief, Ms. Reid helps them work toward wellbeing. If they are experiencing behavioural challenges, social anxiety or parent-child conflicts, she helps them modify their thoughts and actions, achieve better connection, and reach their goals.

 

In addition to providing therapy, Ms. Reid provides assessments and treatment recommendations. She assesses attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), executive functioning challenges, giftedness, intellectual disabilities, learning disorders, cognitive abilities (memory, language, spatial, etc.) and developmental delays. Ms. Reid also assesses trauma, aftermath of abuse, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury, anxiety, autism, depression, epilepsy, disability, obsessive compulsive disorder and psychosis (schizophrenia). 

 

At CRUX, Ms. Reid offers individual therapy and assessment services both in-person and online through easy-to-use technologies like Zoom. She works with children (5 to 11 years of age) and adolescents (12 to 18 years of age). Ms. Reid is a psychologist candidate register with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology.
